So, I was finishing up season 4 of Lost. On one of the episodes, the mercenary leader Martin Keamy was wearing a heart rate monitor which, if his heart rate fell, would send a radio signal to trigger a bomb on the freighter. Well, I got a good look at this heart rate monitor device...
Here's a closer picture...
Look familiar? That's right...it is a Korg metronome.
I know...I'm a nerd. Read More

Well, I have officially been a southerner for a little over a week now. Honestly, the temptation to say words like "y'all" is nothing short of overwhelming. I also find myself always wanting to mock the southern accent...until I remember that I'm far outnumbered out here. I've been called a Yankee more times than I can count...good times.
Other than the cultural adjustment, I have been very busy. Between working (at Starbucks) and brainstorming/programming sequences for the grand opening ... Read More

Okay, so this has been the busiest week of my life. Let me sum it up for y'all, and give you an idea of what to expect over the next week or so here on TheMonoBox.
First of all...I have been spending a good amount of time at New Life Church's new campus in Little Rock. I must say, there's a lot of excitement in the air as the soft opening of the building quickly approaches (Friday!!!). There are people ... Read More

So, I made it to Arkansas safely, which is good news. My car didn't explode (1994 Corolla...200,000 miles...34 MPG...rock on), so that's good news. I am within the first 24 hours of being here in Arkansas and am already working at Starbucks. I'm on break now, and honestly, I am quite exhausted. I am looking forward to having a relaxing weekend, and focusing on getting some content up here (I know, it has been a while, and I ... Read More

In the spirit of some link-lovin' that has been going on, I wanted to point all of you over to a blog that I have been a huge fan of lately: Daley Hake.
This man is a fantastic photographer, and from what I've heard, is a great musician as well. He's done some amazing work for a couple of friends of mine (such as a certain Neil Greathouse at New Life Church in Arkansas), and has done work for just ... Read More

Okay, that was a terrible title. Absolutely pathetic.
Anyway. I wanted to officially inform y'all that posts will be a bit sparse over the next week or so. The reason for this is the fact that I am going to be moving myself and all of my belongings to the state of Arkansas. I know, I know..."Why Arkansas?" Good question.
Well, my move to the AK means a lot of things, but is very much ... Read More

Over the past couple of months or so, I have had the great fortune of getting to know some of the folks behind The Worship Community, which is essentially a grass-roots movement of worship leaders who have a desire to serve and help the greater worship community with knowledge, experience and resources.
It has been great entering into dialogue with the great folks behind the site and hearing their passion for worship. I had the opportunity to write an article ... Read More

So, turns out I thought I would have more time at camp to write posts. Well, needless to say, I was much busier than I thought I would be...so, I'm going to sum it all up with a freakin' megapost. For a number of reasons (which I will elaborate on later), I have been extremely busy lately, so I will apologize in advance for the lack of updates. I promise that once things settle down a bit, I will ... Read More

Alright. So yesterday (Friday), we left Columbus, Ohio with a truck full of equipment destined for somewhere in Michigan. I still have no idea what town we are in, but it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
We made it there in the evening (somewhere around 6:30), so we went ahead and unloaded all of the gear. Upon unloading everything, we found out (much to our dismay) that the camp's scissor lift was broken. This is ... Read More

So, I thought that once I was done with school for the year, things would ease up...I'd get a breath of fresh air, and would have more time to devote to the things I enjoy doing as opposed to the sorts of things that have deadlines.
Boy, was I wrong. For a number of reasons, I have been nearly overwhelmed with things to do. One of which is a summer camp that we are gearing up to do. It is ... Read More
